A capital finlandesa parou para reverenciar o design na Semana do Design de Helsinque, que se encerra neste domingo. É o maior festival de design da região nórdica, com mais de 250 mostras e eventos.
Entre as novidades deste ano estão apresentações e debates realizados dentro de saunas públicas – que são a mania nacional finlandesa.
No centro de Helsinque, 12 instalações urbanas criadas por designers finlandeses e internacionais transformaram a paisagem da cidade. A maior delas é uma gigantesca bolha de plástico construída em torno da estátua da praça central da capital, que foi transformada em um espaço cultural para debates e exibição de filmes.
Entre os mais de 250 eventos que acontecem na capital, um dos mais concorridos é a Habitare, a maior feira de design de interiores da Semana do Design de Helsinque. É o espaço onde estão sendo apresentadas as últimas e mais arrojadas tendências para a decoração de casas, com peças como luminárias, móveis, prateleiras e objetos do dia a dia.
Um dos principais destaques da semana é o Design Market, a maior liquidação de design dos países nórdicos. São produtos, móveis e roupas de 200 empresas de design reunidas nesse grande mercado anual, que costuma atrair 25 mil visitantes. Vale a pena conferir também o Design District, que é o Bairro do Design da capital finlandesa. São 25 ruas no centro de Helsinque, onde estão concentradas diversas lojas de design, galerias de arte, ateliês, antiquários, museus e butiques de roupas.
Diferentes mostras estão acontecendo em vários pontos da cidade, como no centro cultural Kaapeli, que abriga 13 galerias de arte. E durante toda a semana, os ateliês de Helsinque também foram abertos ao público, para visitas guiadas pelos próprios designers.
Saunas públicas
A sauna é uma paixão nacional na Finlândia – são cinco milhões de habitantes e cerca de dois milhões de saunas no país. Na Semana do Design, elas se transformaram em verdadeiras “saunas de reunião”. Cidadãos finlandeses e turistas participam de debates com diferentes especialistas sobre temas sociais e relacionados ao espaço urbano, dentro de cinco saunas públicas.
Para participar, basta trazer roupa de banho e uma toalha. Os eventos foram batizados de Sauna Talks (ou “Conversas na Sauna”), e um dos temas foi a Rainbow Sauna – um debate sobre a importância da diversidade, para uma cultura mais igualitária da sauna.
Design para bebês
Os organizadores da Semana do Design de Helsinque montaram também um programa especial para as crianças, que vão poder aprender sobre design e arquitetura através de uma série de workshops e aulas práticas. Até os bebês estão podendo participar. A Semana do Design tem um espaço para bebês de menos de um ano de idade, onde eles podem tocar e conhecer diferentes materiais, texturas e estruturas.
Para quem quer conhecer a história do design, o Museu do Design de Helsinque oferece uma variedade de exibições e uma coleção que abriga 35 mil objetos, 40 mil gravuras e 100 mil imagens. Os destaques são as criações de designers finlandeses pioneiros, como Alvar Aalto e Eero Aarnio, que produziram algumas das peças mais marcantes do mobiliário vanguardista dos anos 60.
O Museu apresenta agora uma rara retrospectiva da obra de Eero Aarnio, e pode-se ver ali por exemplo, a famosa Ball Chair – a cadeira criada pelo designer no formato de uma esfera branca com estrutura de fibra de vidro, e que foi imortalizada em filmes de James Bond.
